'Shirley', is a headpiece that manages to be strong and bold, and at the same time, flirty and feminine.
Debbie's inspiration for this headpiece came from her love of the films (and film stars) of the 1930s and 40s. This piece was inspired by the slightly wilder pieces worn during the 1950s and 60s, and is named after Shirley MacLaine, one of the most inspiring actresses of the time.
The suede headpiece has two crowns, one sitting atop the other. One crown is in dark blue suede, and one in a natural / neutral coloured suede. The trimming is made up of lots of little flowers of varying sizes, all made in the same two suedes, and given a third dimension with the use of loops of antique gold coloured seed beads at their centres.
This piece can be made with a neutral crown over blue (as pictured), or with a blue crown over neutral. Likewise, it can be made in other colour combinations - in both cases, please contact me to discuss a custom commission.
Materials:
Suede leather, buckram, millinery wire, silk, glass seed beads.
This piece is made to order. In general, it will take around six weeks to produce a piece, however, if you need it sooner than that, do contact us to see if we are able to help.
All pieces are supplied in a hat box.
The headpiece can be made with a headband, a comb, or a clip. The weight of the leather makes this piece unsuitable to be worn with an elastic only. It can also be made to sit to the left or the right. If you wish to purchase, we will contact you after receipt of your order to discuss your preferences.
Please also bear in mind that this headpiece is hand made, so small variations are normal, and should be expected.
