Last night, it was pointed out to me that in a blog post back in September (which was aaaages ago), we promised to tell you more about the new studio.
I signed the contract for a corner studio in a former nightclub, in Mirfield, back in August. There wasn't yet a door on the studio, and the gallery that sits in the centre of the place was a bit of a building site (apparently, as you'd expect in a nightclub, everything used to be black). The whole space was originally a cinema, and is enormous.
My little corner studio is now fully up and running as my workspace, and the attic bedroom that I used to work in (at home) is now ready to become a bedroom again. We moved in September, and it took a good while to get sorted out. But it's all very exciting, and there are some fabulous other artists and makers in the other studios.

Above - the day we went to look at the place, and sign the contract. (Bottom right is the view out of my studio into the main gallery.)
Above and below, how the studio looked after about three days of hard work going through boxes, carrying things down and then up stairs (my old work room was two stories up, and this one is on the first floor), going through bags, packing, unpacking, and sorting out, this is how the studio looked, ready for the open studio weekend we had in September.
I should point out that at the end of the actual moving day, the bags and boxes were stacked all the way up to the top of the notice board...

It's now different again - mainly because we have a nice heater in there now, on the wall - I'll take some photos of the place as it is now we're properly settled in, so you can see how it looks now.
